The Wujia Branch of the Fongshan City Household Registration Office, Kaohsiung County Police Bureau (KHCPB), was the forerunner of this office, and there were only 3 personnel. As the population of Fongshan City increased to over 200,000 people, the scale of the household registration office was expanded on 1 January 1988, and another household registration office was established. The full name of this office was Kaohsiung county Fongshan Second Household Registration Office. After the separation of police and household administration in July 1992, household registration offices were under jurisdiction of the KSCG. Today, the full name of this office is Kaohsiung county Fongshan Second Household Registration Office.
The office is located in the south of Fongshan City, generally known as Wujia, near Cianjhen District, Siaogang District and Lingya District of Kaohsiung City and Daliao Township of Kaohsiung County. Major business and industrial locations, such as the Kaohsiung International Airport, Kaohsiung Export Processing Zone and China Steel Corporation, are in the vicinity. Though it was lowly populated, it has now become a secondary urban center due to industrial and population growth. The office is situation at the transportation hub of the city with access to the Wujia Interchange of National Highway, split way toward south of Rueilong Road, interchange between Wujia System and Tai-88 Line, interchange to Tai-88 Line (Fongding Road), K-MRT Cianjhen Senior High School Station (Station R5, Red Line).
The administrative districts within the office’s jurisdiction include 35 villages and 992 neighborhoods (by July 2009), with a total of 164,611 people in 59,828 households. There are 3 senior high vocational schools, 5 junior high schools, and 10 elementary schools. Also, the Military Academy and Chung.Cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School are without the office’s jurisdiction. Together with the ROC Military Academy, a complete education network is formed. |
